Hi Ella. You’ve called Totani’s theory of no nearby aliens “bleak”… A few months ago, in your article about the “great filter”, you wrote that “our future seems bleak” if there’s something preventing life forms as smart as us from colonising the galaxy as fast as we or they would like. I’m wondering whether there is any resolution of the Fermi paradox which you don’t find bleak?
